Bridgewater has parts of two (2) school districts within its boundaries. Northfield District 659 takes in the major portion of the township, while Faribault District 192 serves the western most portion.

Bridgewater is served by the Northfield Fire Department and served by Northfield Ambulance Service, an emergency medical system (EMS) run by the Northfield Hospital. Law enforcement protection for the township is provided by the Rice County Sheriff’s Department.
